My Lady Boss Perspective
So I’ve come to a realization this week – when you put your intentions out in to the universe amazing things start to happen organically. I know that sounds super hokey (because I feel hokey even saying it), but I can’t deny it!
Since I’ve really put Ladies Leading Ladies into the universe over the last couple of months (after hiding it to myself for at least a year 🤦🏻♀️), so many doors have opened up! I’ve met some fantastic, driven women who are working in complementary spaces and have taken that leap of putting their dreams and intentions out in the universe. And they’ve all seen amazing things happen. SHOUTOUT: Kayla of HerSpace, Diana of The RAWW Network, Morghan of Anchoring Success, and Emi and Emilie of BossedUp! 💪🏻
Also, my current network of amazing men and women have started seeing me in a different light and have started connecting me to more and more amazing folks. I’m getting such a positive response and have even gotten a few asks to provide one-on-one coaching! (Not there yet, ladies – but programming for individuals is coming this fall!)
Okay, Now Take it From Some of the Most Influential Women
Okay enough about me, the point I’m trying to make here is that EVERYTHING changed once I put my intentions out into the universe and stopped keeping it hidden to myself! The great thing here is that it not only brings you more motivation and energy, but it HOLDS YOU ACCOUNTABLE! I can’t put anything off (nor do I want to), because now I’ve shared it with my people and I refuse to let them down.
*BTW, this is a tactic I learned from reading Gretchen Rubin‘s book, Better Than Before. She can be an odd duck and some parts can be a little difficult to get through, but understanding the 4 tendencies of habit-making and how to utilize that to your advantage is absolutely invaluable. Check it out here. Fun fact: I’m an obliger.
This video (back from 2014) of Emma Watson speaking on behalf of the He For She Campaign as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador resonated with me on this topic. In this video Emma kills it as always 👏🏻, but you can also see her nerves and you can see her fear being “new” in this space having only been an Ambassador for six months. She didn’t have to become a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, but she decided to go for it and has noticed immediately how things have changed for her since speaking about feminism regularly. If you have 15 minutes, watch it!
Realize that no matter who you are, you will be nervous and scared to put yourself and your intentions out in to the universe – but once you do, amazing things start to happen. ✨
So What Now?
Here’s my challenge to you this week – whatever your dream and goals are, STOP HIDING THEM! Share them at every chance you get and you will see things start to snowball. There is no right time, there is no right way, there is no certain point of progress you need to make, you just have to take that first leap and put it into the universe. 😬
We as women tend to have such a more difficult time at this than men, and we’ve got to let that go! If you want to be a great leader, SHARE THAT. Your team, your colleagues, your loved ones, and even strangers you share with will start to connect you, support you, and provide you with advice (some that will be helpful and some you might need to ignore… haha).
Being a great leader means you recognize fear, and keep leading.
What is your dream? What fear has been holding you back from that dream or goal? Who are you going to share it with this week? What’s one small step you can commit to and tell someone else about this week? Share in the comments! 🗣
Share this post with a buddy, so the two of you can hold each other accountable! 👯♀️
Talk soon! 👋🏻Nikki
