The Leadership Project

How to become the leader you always wished you’d had

Are you wanting to get into a leadership role?

  • Do you have a manager or leader that you just CANNOT believe is in a leadership position over you?
  • Have you been trying to get a promotion to the next level and having trouble getting there?
  • Are you not sure if you’re ready to be a “leader”?
  • Do you feel like you need more time in your current position before you apply for the next promotion?

Have you just been promoted to a leadership role?

  • Are you shooting from the hip with your leadership style?
  • Are you struggling to navigate the switch from doing the work to leading the work?
  • Is it difficult to manage people who used to be your peers?

Have you been in a higher leadership role for a while now?

  • Is your team not producing the results you know are possible?
  • Are you having a hard time building trust and rapport with your team?
  • Have you tried tough love and it hasn’t improved your results?

Are you a solopreneur looking to grow a team?

  • Are you overwhelmed with where to start finding the right team?
  • Are you considering hiring family or friends?
  • Not sure if you should hire someone contract or permanent?
  • Are you trying to manage a remote team?

If any of these questions resonate with you, The Leadership Project is for you!

Why is The Leadership Project my best choice?

Over a decade ago when I started my leadership journey, I was TERRIFIED while incredibly excited and thankful. I had that sneaking feeling of fear that someone was going to find out that I didn’t know what the hell I was doing! Every single leadership role I’ve been blessed to have has plopped me right in and said “GO!”. There was no training, there was no mentoring, there was no time to learn. And if I was lucky enough to have “training” it was on the technical side of my job, not on how to lead a team. And DEFINITELY NOT how to do that with integrity, poise, and trust that would build effective, respectful relationships with my team allowing them the support and safety to innovate and do what they do best every day.

But, I did it anyways! It wasn’t always pretty, and I made tons of mistakes along the way – but in the end I have led extremely successful teams that have made a huge impact on the companies they were a part of, and the communities they served. I’ve taken departments from as little as 4 full-time staff to 55 full-time staff, from budgets in the $100k range to over $4M annually, scaled and replicated programs from one locality to across the state, and all with success at about 3x the industry average. I’ve come into broken teams and set foundation and structure that was so desperately needed, while building trust amongst the team and rebuilding a supportive and creative culture. I’ve streamlined convoluted processes, made the hard choices when someone was not a fit for the team, recruited, hired, and retained the RIGHT talent, crafted leadership development programs, developed program and company handbooks, created and tweaked policy to support the intended outcomes – all the while growing results, budgets, revenue, and HAPPINESS.

I had to find the resources myself (SO DAMN TEDIOUS!), and over the last decade have learned, tested, and proven the most effective leadership and management strategies and skills. You don’t have to do all that! PHEW! The Leadership Project puts that all into a highly-interactive, 8-week course that will challenge you at every level of leadership – and even better, with LIFETIME ACCESS, you can come back and reset over and over again because leadership is a lifelong practice!

Oh and if you’re service-minded like myself you’ll be happy to learn that we give out one Boss level scholarship for every 10 paid participants in The Leadership Project! This means if we have 100 paid participants, we’ll have 10 scholarships going out to deserving women or if we have 1,000 paid participants we’ll have 100 scholarships going out to these awesome deserving lady bosses! So by joining the program, you’re not only investing in yourself, but helping us to close the gender leadership gap through scholarships to lady bosses who don’t have the means to purchase the program right now! If you’re interested in applying to be a scholarship recipient you can apply here, but please read through this entire page first.

Some changes that I have noticed in myself as a leader since working with Nikki is that I do have a voice. She always encouraged staff to talk about our ideas and concerns to better the organization. Others that also worked with her have really started showing their determination, Nikki really pulled that out of you.

I love Nikki's trainings. She would work with all learning styles; visual, hands-on, etc. I loved Nikki's management style as well -- we felt appreciated and listened to. She has a strong, confident voice and when she speaks it makes you want to listen and ask for more.

I would recommend working with Nikki. She always checks on her people to make sure things are going good and encouraged feedback. If you were struggling, she would always be willing to support you in any way she could.

Before I got to know Nikki, I was unsure of her leadership style because her personality was so different from her predecessor, my former supervisor. Since working with Nikki, I learned to focus more on the needs of my clients.

I have seen Nikki inspire those who work directly under her. They admire her work ethic and her ability to multitask. Nikki values leadership of a team and of one's self. She considers leadership a trait that every individual can utilize for the best interests of themselves and their teammates.

Nikki works very hard to continually learn and grow as a leader. That alone inspires others to better themselves. Her personal guidance will bring success to many.

Honestly, working with someone remotely always gives me a little anxiety, which Nikki quickly alleviated.

Since working with Nikki, I notice myself having a better appreciation of the process of soliciting and truly listening to the feedback from my staff. Sometimes as leaders, we forget that people think differently than we do. I notice since working with Nikki other colleagues making the effort to show appreciation to our team members.

I really like Nikki’s speaking style. She delivers information in a very clear, concise manner that is easy to follow and learn from. She also always has a smile on her face and speaks confidently and positively. Nikki has the ability to deliver even bad news in a way that still makes people feel motivated, not discouraged.

I feel like a number of people I work with who were really quiet and reserved gained a voice after working with Nikki. She fostered an environment that gave people the confidence to speak up and out about things. This is something that has continued even after Nikki has left the organization I initially met her at.

Working with Nikki was a great experience for me that allowed me to grow in my professional life. I believe that many other people could benefit from the experiences I had in working with her.

Working with Nikki is inspiring. She leads by example and I have changed my leadership abilities through following her genuine approach to identifying and validating staffs' strengths.

Nikki's management style is unparalleled. While she is incredibly knowledgeable, she is always approachable, humble and eager to teach. I personally looked forward to every opportunity in which I was able to work with Nikki because I always learned so much, but also because I was motivated to reach my own professional goals.

I would definitely recommend working with Nikki to increase leadership skills! I have been personally managed and led by different people with all different types of leadership styles. I often compare these learning experiences to the leadership I was under when I worked with Nikki, as she is now my standard. She knows her stuff, is super organized (which I love!), and engaged. She empowers and motivates!

When I first started working with Nikki, I thought, "Is her schedule too busy to accommodate mine?" But I was soon sure that was not the case.

At first I was nervous to work with Nikki, but after getting to know Nikki and speaking with her, I felt very comfortable in approaching her. She took time to understand concerns and never made me feel like I didn't matter.

After working with Nikki, I noticed that I was able to be confident in asking questions because I felt a sense of value when I was able to voice my questions. In trainings, she provided the content with great detail and also provided humor, which I adopted when I present now as well.

I would recommend working with Nikki, because she does not come off as having more power than someone else. She carries herself as a leader, but approachable. The world needs more Nikki's.

I didn't know Nikki, however I went into our work together with an open mind. I wasn't clear how much support she could offer our County in implementation so I was nervous to take on another big project from the start up.

I believe that surrounding yourself with positive and strong women helps inspire you to be your best self. Nikki is one of those women who inspires others to lead with authenticity and respect for others.

Since working with Nikki, I can see that it's possible to lead while also being kind. I noticed that those around me, who also worked with Nikki, became more professional and were held to a higher standard.

Nikki has a speaking presence, and she mixes pragmatism with kindness.

I was thrilled when I heard Nikki and I would be working more closely together. I loved that she was a young, successful woman and wanted (want) to learn everything I can from her.

Since working with Nikki, I am more confident in myself as a leader and communicator. She made sure everyone felt heard and valued and coached whenever asked/needed. She was positive with a great energy that permeated the office.

She brought nothing but positive change and improvements, but was also able to be effectively stern in a way I had not witnessed before.

Since working with Nikki, my confidence level has boosted tremendously. I know the type of leader I need to be to succeed in my field. Those who have taken Nikki’s words of wisdom to heart, have made a positive impact in their colleagues. They have an open mind and seek out additional support to continue working on their leadership skills.

I really enjoy when Nikki speaks and her training style. She is not afraid to talk in front of a large group and is really confident in what she does.

I feel that so many women would learn so much from Nikki. To be honest, I was very intimidated working with her at first but realized that she is such a great role model.

Nikki puts 110% into all things she does, but perhaps her most developed quality is her ability to be a inspiring and passionate leader. Nikki's passion is contagious. Nikki is good at finding common goals that she and her team can reach together. Nikki understands that by listening to employees and helping them grow she is making a long term investment for the company, and she is not afraid to step outside of her managerial capacity to help her team.

What The Leadership Project is NOT

The Leadership Project is not a business school, and we do not focus on a bunch of theory or history. Yes, we are using proven strategies and will certainly point to research but we are here for ACTION. You will learn through videos, and then practice skills through very easily-followed action sheets.

This is not just a sit back and listen kind of course! You are expected to do the work, because we learn our best through doing not listening.

This program is for any level of leader who CARES about being the best leader they can possibly be. This is for leaders who are willing to value their teams, not leaders who want each person to be just a cog in a machine. We will teach you how to set up your department to run as a well-oiled machine, but we cannot make you want to be an engaged leader.

While there is accountability in the online groups, this is a self-paced program so your motivation and accountability have to be there. Again, we will teach you strategies to increase your own self-motivation, create and sustain good habits, and increase your self-accountability but you have to want it.

This program is focused on leaders who want to lead a team of people. While that team may be remote or in-person, tiny or huge, permanent full-time employees or contracted or part-time folks, is no matter – but we are focused on skills to lead others and manage staff. If you are a solopreneur, this could still be a great course for you if your goal is to grow a team. And again you have lifetime access so this program will grow with you through all of your transitions and promotions.

Unless you have signed up for the Next Level Boss or Ultimate Boss programs, you will not have guaranteed live access to Nikki or The Leadership Project team. If that live coaching is important to you, make sure you join the Next Level Boss or Ultimate Boss programs – and don’t wait! There are only 30 spots available for live coaching in each class, because the people in the Next Level Boss and Ultimate Boss groups get intensive live coaching access and there is only so much Nikki to go around!

The program is entirely based online so you will need access to a computer and a strong internet connection. Any live calls will be on Facebook Live, Zoom, or WebEx and further details will be provided after purchase.

    The When and Where

The Leadership Project only opens enrollment twice per year! Once in the Fall and once in the Spring.

    FAQ

    The (not so) Fine Print

    The (not so) Fine Print

I guarantee that through this program you will find increased confidence as a leader, become a better manager, and see an increase in responsiveness and results of your team. Those things are hard to measure – but if within the first 3 weeks of the program you truly feel you are not making progress as a leader and a manager, and you have done the work, I will refund your full course cost less the cost of the StrengthsFinder and DISC assessments (total value $50-$80).

To request a refund you must email info@ladiesleadingladies.com with the email subject “Requesting Refund”. I will need you to provide a brief explanation of why the program is not working for you and also will need you to attach all of your completed action sheets from the modules released up to that date. The action sheets must be completed to be provided a full refund (less assessment costs).

All program materials are property of Nikki Henry and Ladies Leading Ladies and are not to be distributed, shared, copied, or altered in any way. If you’d like to request to share some information in a blog or marketing material with your audience, you must have written, expressed consent from Nikki Henry directly with specifications on how and what information you will be sharing. Any breaches of these policies will result in litigation.

Is The Leadership Project only for women?

NOPE! We’ve worked with many men and are happy to work with more. A lady to us means a person who owns their femininity and harnesses that innate power into good – for themselves, their loved ones, their colleagues, and for their community.

Ladies Leading Ladies envisions a world where all women are encouraged and empowered to lead and our mission is to engage, empower, and equip women to grow as supportive leaders through training, coaching, and community.

While we specifically aim to close the leadership gender gap, the principles within The Leadership Project work across gender.

Why is the program so expensive? I don’t think I can afford it!

Well, we really don’t feel the program is too expensive when you think of all you’re provided. To get this level of training you’d be paying thousands of dollars to attend in-person events, and even more if you brought a consultant to your company specifically! And guaranteed, you would not be able to get the depth and amount of content that you get in The Leadership Project.

For example, here are some prices from the American Management Association:

2-day courses – ABOUT $2,500 PLUS TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATIONS
5-day courses – ALMOST $4,000 PLUS TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATIONS
    12 hour online courses – ALMOST $2,400

The programs listed above go over just a couple of leadership and management principles while you’ve seen above the breadth and depth of what is covered in The Leadership Project. The hundreds of hours of content you receive with us also lasts you a lifetime – these other courses are only a one-time shot!! We are very confident in the value of our courses and what we’re offering for the cost.

We also offer monthly payment plans to make our programming accessible to all! The monthly payments start at just $75/month and go up to just $135/month – that’s the cost of a dinner or two out with the family! That budgeting is so possible and we hope that helps make our program more accessible to those of you investing in yourselves.

Lastly, as mentioned we offer a LadyBoss Scholarship Program for women in need who just do not have the means to purchase The Leadership Project. For every 10 paid participants we provide one full Boss level scholarship to a deserving LadyBoss. To apply for the LadyBoss Scholarship Program please click here.

What if the dates of the next class don’t work for me?

No worries! The Boss level program is released over an 8-week period of time but is completely self-paced so you can start and finish anytime you’d like – remember you have LIFETIME ACCESS!

For the Next Level Boss program, you can submit your questions for the weekly group coaching calls and will then have LIFETIME ACCESS to the recorded calls where your questions will be answered.

For the Ultimate Boss program, we will schedule your one-on-one calls around your schedule so we’ve got you covered!
