How to become the leader you always wished you’d had
Are you wanting to get into a leadership or management role but are having a hard time getting there?
Have you just been promoted to a leadership role and want to do the absolute best job you can for your team(s)?
Have you been in a higher leadership role for a while now and want to figure out how to get optimal success out of your team(s)?
Then YES, The Leadership Project is for you!
Why is The Leadership Project my best choice?
Over a decade ago when I started my leadership journey, I was TERRIFIED while incredibly excited and thankful. I had that sneaking feeling of fear that someone was going to find out that I didn’t know what the hell I was doing! Every single leadership role I’ve been blessed to have has plopped me right in and said “GO!”. There was no training, there was no mentoring, there was no time to learn. And if I was lucky enough to have “training” it was on the technical side of my job, not on how to lead a team. And DEFINITELY NOT how to do that with integrity, poise, and trust that would build effective, respectful relationships with my team allowing them the support and safety to innovate and do what they do best every day.
But, I did it anyways! It wasn’t always pretty, and I made tons of mistakes along the way – but in the end I have led extremely successful teams that have made a huge impact on the companies they were a part of and the communities they served. I’ve taken departments from as little as 4 full-time staff to 55 full-time staff, from budgets in the $100k range to over $4M annually, scaled and replicated programs from one locality to across the state, and all with success at about 3-4x the industry average.
I’ve come into broken teams and set foundation and structure that was so desperately needed, while building trust amongst the team and rebuilding a supportive and creative culture. I’ve streamlined convoluted processes, made the hard choices when someone was not a fit for the team, recruited, hired, and retained the RIGHT talent, crafted leadership development programs, developed program and company handbooks, created and tweaked policy to support the intended outcomes – all the while growing results, budgets, revenue, and HAPPINESS.
I had to find the resources myself (SO DAMN TEDIOUS!), and over the last decade have learned, tested, and proven the most effective leadership and management strategies and skills. You don’t have to do all that! PHEW! The Leadership Project puts that all into a highly-interactive, 11-week course that will challenge you at every level of leadership – and even better, with LIFETIME ACCESS, you can come back and reset over and over again because leadership is a lifelong practice!
Oh and if you’re service-minded like myself you’ll be happy to learn that we give out one Boss level scholarship for every 10 paid participants in The Leadership Project! This means if we have 100 paid participants, we’ll have 10 scholarships going out to deserving women (or non-binary people), or if we have 1,000 paid participants we’ll have 100 scholarships going out to these awesome deserving lady bosses! So by joining the program, you’re not only investing in yourself, but helping us to close the gender leadership gap through scholarships to lady bosses who don’t have the means to purchase the program right now! If you’re interested in applying to be a scholarship recipient you can apply here, but please read through this entire page first.
I have seen Nikki inspire those who work directly under her. They admire her work ethic and her ability to multitask. Nikki values leadership of a team and of one's self. She considers leadership a trait that every individual can utilize for the best interests of themselves and their teammates.
Nikki works very hard to continually learn and grow as a leader. That alone inspires others to better themselves. Her personal guidance will bring success to many.
Lynn D. Harrod, Web & Graphic Designer
Nikki's management style is unparalleled. While she is incredibly knowledgeable, she is always approachable, humble and eager to teach. I personally looked forward to every opportunity in which I was able to work with Nikki because I always learned so much, but also because I was motivated to reach my own professional goals.
I would definitely recommend working with Nikki to increase leadership skills! I have been personally managed and led by different people with all different types of leadership styles. I often compare these learning experiences to the leadership I was under when I worked with Nikki, as she is now my standard. She knows her stuff, is super organized (which I love!), and engaged. She empowers and motivates!
Maricella Kline, Social Worker
Since working with Nikki, I notice myself having a better appreciation of the process of soliciting and truly listening to the feedback from my staff. Sometimes as leaders, we forget that people think differently than we do. I notice since working with Nikki other colleagues making the effort to show appreciation to our team members.
Suzanne Tinsley, Vice President, Texas Agency Manager
Fort Worth, TX
I feel like a number of people I work with who were really quiet and reserved gained a voice after working with Nikki. She fostered an environment that gave people the confidence to speak up and out about things. This is something that has continued even after Nikki has left the organization I initially met her at.
Working with Nikki was a great experience for me that allowed me to grow in my professional life. I believe that many other people could benefit from the experiences I had in working with her.
Alice O. Fabel, Career & Family Navigator
I love Nikki's trainings. She would work with all learning styles; visual, hands-on, etc. I loved Nikki's management style as well -- we felt appreciated and listened to. She has a strong, confident voice and when she speaks it makes you want to listen and ask for more.
I would recommend working with Nikki. She always checks on her people to make sure things are going good and encouraged feedback. If you were struggling, she would always be willing to support you in any way she could.
Lisa Lowe, Career & Family Navigator

Sarah All, Student Psychologist Intern
Since working with Nikki, I am more confident in myself as a leader and communicator. She made sure everyone felt heard and valued and coached whenever asked/needed. She was positive with a great energy that permeated the office.

I can recognize similar qualities in Nikki in other leaders, however these leaders are usually far beyond Nikki's age. She's refined in her style beyond her years! I really enjoy her positive approach and how at times I would have maybe let on to my patience bring tested, Nikki didn't show it at all.
I would absolutely recommend working with Nikki! In fact I think I even recall saying to Nikki let's start a business because I could see her incredible potential with people. She is so compelling!
Marisa Green, Child Welfare Services Manager

What The Leadership Project is NOT
The Leadership Project is not a business school, and we do not focus on a bunch of theory or history. Yes, we are using proven strategies and will certainly point to research but we are here for ACTION. You will learn through videos, and then practice skills through very easy-to-follow action sheets.
This is not just a sit back and listen kind of course! You are expected to do the work, because we learn our best through doing not listening.
This program is for any level of leader who CARES about being the best leader they can possibly be. This is for leaders who are willing to value their teams, not leaders who want each person to be just a cog in a machine. We will teach you how to set up your department to run as a well-oiled machine, but we cannot make you want to be an engaged leader.
While there is accountability in the online groups, this is a self-paced program so your self-motivation and accountability have to be there. Again, we will teach you strategies to increase your own motivation, create and sustain good habits, and increase your self-accountability but you have to want it.
This program is focused on leaders who want to lead a team of people. While that team may be remote or in-person, tiny or huge, permanent full-time employees or contracted or part-time folks, is no matter – but we are focused on skills to lead others and manage staff. If you are a solopreneur, this would be better suited for you once you’ve gotten to the point of hiring on a team to scale your business, but not while you’re on your own trying to build your business. And again you have lifetime access so this program will grow with you through all of your transitions and promotions.
Unless you have signed up for the Next Level Boss or Ultimate Boss programs, you will not have guaranteed live access to Nikki or The Leadership Project team. If that live coaching is important to you, make sure you join the Next Level Boss or Ultimate Boss programs – and don’t wait! There are only 30 spots available for live coaching in each class, because the people in the Next Level Boss and Ultimate Boss groups get intensive live coaching access and there is only so much Nikki to go around!
The program is entirely based online so you will need access to a computer and a strong internet connection. Any live calls will be on Facebook Live, Zoom, or WebEx and further details will be provided after purchase.

I guarantee that through this program you will find increased confidence as a leader, become a better manager, and see an increase in responsiveness and results of your team. Those things are hard to measure – but if within the first 3 weeks of the program you truly feel you are not making progress as a leader and a manager, and you have done the work, I will refund your full course cost less the cost of the StrengthsFinder and DISC assessments (total value $50-$80).
To request a refund you must email firstname.lastname@example.org with the email subject “Requesting Refund”. I will need you to provide a brief explanation of why the program is not working for you and also will need you to attach all of your completed action sheets from the modules released up to that date. The action sheets must be completed to be provided a full refund (less assessment costs).
